As a facility maintenance professional, it’s your job to manage costs and efficiency while keeping employees and customers safe. The job seems pretty straightforward, but operating industrial boilers, furnaces and hot water heaters requires hard work, dedication and a willingness to adapt. This is particularly true when it comes to selecting a condensate neutralizer. This choice may seem minuscule in the grand scheme of things, but it plays a crucial role in the health and viability of your drainage system. Think about it: if the neutralizer doesn’t keep pH at reasonable levels, you run the risk of corrosion, landscape damage or costly plumbing problems.
Instead of rushing to find the cheapest option or the one offered by the largest retailer possible, take the time to ask yourself three important questions. A little planning and research can help you make the right decision.
1.) Is it sustainable? Many condensate neutralizers use questionable chemicals and blends that require special steps for disposal. Not only is this inconvenient, it means the remaining blend will end up in a landfill and eventually seep into groundwater. Contaminated groundwater ends up in our lakes, rivers and ultimately our drinking water. Here at Neutra-Safe, we pride ourselves on making an eco-friendly, sustainable proprietary mixture. Once the condensate media runs out, it’s safe to throw in the trashcan, no questions asked.
2.) What types of media does the neutralizer use? The majority of our competitors use limestone in their condensate neutralizers. Limestone isn’t pure and doesn’t work anywhere near as well as our proprietary blend. We’ve developed a condensate media mixture that’s a blend of calcium carbonate and magnesium oxide. It’s more efficient than the competition’s and much safer, too.
3.) Is it reusable? Our condensate neutralizers are clear tubes that can be refilled time and time again. As soon as the condensate media runs out, simply open up the top, remove the bag and refill it with a new one. Additionally, the clear design allows you to monitor your condensate at all times. You’ll never have to guess about when it’s time to place a new order. Plus, the reusable design keeps thousands of pounds of plastic out of landfills each year.
